Addison McDowell Advances to NC-06 GOP Primary Runoff!

McDowell takes Big Momentum into the Runoff after Going from Being a Political Unknown to Top Contender Against a Perennial Candidate w/100% Name ID in Less than Three Months

March 5, 2024

(Arcadia) – Addison McDowell tonight advanced into the GOP Primary Runoff for NC-06. McDowell, the Trump endorsed candidate, started his campaign less than three months ago as a first-time candidate with no money. In that short time, McDowell has gone from political unknown to top contender to win! And his challenger in the runoff? It’s the guy who has actively campaigned against Mark Robinson and would, from time to time, shat upon President Donald Trump (it’s publicly available and our lawyers assure us we can use it).

“All the so-called experts said I had no shot, but I had faith in the voters and it looks like they thought differently than the experts,” said McDowell. “I owe a big thank you to President Donald J. Trump. President Trump endorsed me because he knows securing our southern border is very important to me. We lost my little brother Luke to fentanyl likely smuggled across the Southern border and I want to shut down that pipeline so other families don’t suffer a similar tragedy. I am honored the voters of the 6th District have put me into this runoff and I’m going to keep working hard to win this thing on May 14! And also, unlike Mark Walker, I KNOW Mark Robinson is going to be our next governor!”

McDowell was also endorsed by US Senator Ted Budd, the NC Troopers Association, the NC Police Benevolent Association, and dozens of grassroots conservative organizations and elected office holders.

When’s the Runoff?

Tuesday, May 14.

You feel good about it?

Hell yeah [don’t show this to my Mom]. This primary had six candidates. Now it’s just two. Addison went from an unknown to a top contender with a buncha also-rans splitting the vote. Now it’s just Addison vs. Mark Walker, a perennial candidate/professional politician who has crapped all over President Donald Trump and Lt. Governor Mark Robinson. Walker is the past-his-prime driver on old tires. Addison has fresh tires (the Trump endorsement) and campaigns today don’t have restrictor plates [NASCAR reference for the Ivy Leaguer Reporters trying to figure this out]. Addison is gonna slingshot Walker with as much confidence and ease as Dale Earnhardt, Sr. ever had. We’re gonna win this thing and it ain’t gonna be close.

So, that confident?

Absolutely. Addison went from zero name ID and zero cash-on-hand to being one of the top-two candidates in less than three months. The biggest challenge this campaign had from day one was running out of runway. That ain’t a problem now as we have two more months. Mark Walker needed to win this thing tonight and couldn’t close the deal. Now, instead of a crowded field of candidates, it’s just one-on-one and the field is level-set. No one starts with a cash advantage or name ID advantage. But Addison has the BIGGEST advantage you can have in a GOP primary – Addison McDowell is the only candidate in this race endorsed by President Donald J. Trump. And Mark Walker is the only one who has bragged he doesn’t have to kiss the Trump ring.

It will be you and Walker. What are your thoughts on that?

Addison went from unknown to front-runner in less than 3 months. Mark Walker needs to understand that, now, it’s just him versus the Trump-Endorsed-Candidate. It ain’t gonna end well for him. Just ask Pat McCrory what it’s like to be leading at the start of the election but losing at the end? Remember, Addison McDowell is the Trump endorsed candidate and Donald Trump is going to be the GOP nominee when this runoff happens. Mark Walker is wildly out of step with Republican voters if he thinks an anti-Robinson candidate is the answer and Walker donors are wildly out of step if they think this runoff is anything other than an exercise in futility.

You seem like you’re piling on Mark Walker?

I mean, look at reality. Donald Trump is going to be the GOP nominee for President when this runoff happens, and Walker spent most of the ’22 campaign cycle dismissing President Trump (before losing badly). Mark Robinson is the GOP nominee for Governor and Walker has spent all the ’24 campaign cycle trashing Mark Robinson. Walker is wildly out of step with Republican voters.

Why do you think Mark Walker won’t maintain his cash advantage? He did in the primary.

Because donors aren’t stupid. They know in a GOP primary run-off, the Trump endorsed candidate almost always wins. In this weak economy Joe Biden has created, no one wants to throw their money away on a candidate who can’t win. Both candidates can go back to maxed out donors for another contribution. Our donors will be happy to help but Mark Walker’s donors are going to have a lot of questions before they write another check. Or Walker’s donors are going to be supporting Addison if they want to be on the winning team. There might be a LOT of name-calling from Walker’s camp and he’ll probably post a lot of pics of President Trump and/or other fake endorsements to try to confuse voters. But only one of these two candidates have been endorsed by President Trump, and that’s Addison McDowell.
